Texas A&M offered DeSoto (TX) offensive guard Edward Ingram last month.

Every year certain recruits begin to add new offers at a rapid pace, sometimes even adding multiple new offers per day during the open contact period. Over the past few weeks, DeSoto (Texas) offensive guard Edward Ingram has been that recruit - adding new offers from Baylor, Oklahoma, TCU, Missouri, Colorado, and Texas A&M.

"Coach (Jeff) Banks stopped by the school and watched us go through workouts," Ingram said. "We connected later that day and he told me the coaching staff wanted me to join the 12th man. They really liked my size and how physical I am on the field."

The offer from the Aggies came only days before the program's first junior day and Ingram, along with his teammate Laviska Shenault, made the trip to College Station for the day.

"I actually visited A&M for their junior day and got the chance to sit down with Coach (Kevin) Sumlin," Ingram said. "We talked about the importance of academics and how it's important to think about your future in the recruiting process, and not just all of the fancy facilities and everything else that comes along with the visits.

"They really focus on getting their players to graduate on time. The program has a ton of tutors and resources available to the student athletes."

The 6-foot-4, 320-pound lineman already visited Baylor for a junior day and already has plans to visit Oklahoma, Alabama, and LSU later this spring.

Rated a 5.6 three-star prospect, Ingram is the No. 20 offensive guard in the nation and the No. 75 prospect on the Rivals.com Texas Postseason Top 10o for the 2017 class.
